LCC Building Energy Modelling Service

We are pleased to introduce a new and innovative service for DesignBuilder software users (others can use the service as well however they will require a licensed DesignBuilder software installed on thier computers). During extensive trials it has been found that our service has huge cost and time saving benefits when generating a Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) or when conducting Building Energy Simulation. As a result we are now offering this service to benefit all Energy Assessors/ Consultants using DesignBuilder software . We have sucessfully created over 400 models for Commecial EPCs lodged by acccredited Energy Assessors in UK who have been using our service.

What is LCC Building Energy Modelling Service?

• Energy Assessors/ Consultants undertake a building energy survey as usual and in accordance with guidelines issued by Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and their respective Accreditation bodies. We provide specially designed site notes proforma for ease of data collection. These site notes potentially could also reduce time spent on site and avoid any data omissions.
• The Energy Assessor/ Consultant then simply scans these completed site notes and sends them along with the building photographs and site plans electronically in form of a .ZIP file which can simply be uploaded from this website. Please note that a scanner will be required.
• All information, received by us, is analysed to facilitate the creation of a building model using DesignBuilder software. We will include attributes such as assigning Activity, Construction, Openings, Lighting and HVAC (conditions apply). We will promptly email the Assessor for details any missing/ incomplete information.
• The completed DesignBuilder model (in .dbs format) is then sent back to the Energy Assessor/Consultant.
• The Energy Assessor opens the model using licensed DesignBuilder software, checks the model and continues with the further process of simulation and runs the calculation be it using SBEM or EnergyPlus engine. Please note licensed DesignBuilder software is required
